So many things can cause a vehicle to fail a smog inspection.  Here are the most common problems:

1. If the check engine lamp is on with the engine running  No if’s and’s or butt’s.
2. If the computer has been reset and required system monitors haven’t completed.  
3. Aftermarket engine or exhaust modifications that are not approved by the CARB.
4. Permanent Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
